Mr. Michal Szczepanski,
Ph.D. (born in Warsaw, Poland in 1974) started his piano studies in 1980 in
the 'Karol Szymanowski' State Music School
and College in Wroclaw,
Poland by the legendary Polish piano master - Prof. Janina
Butor (by her, for example, studied Mr. Krzysztof Jablonski).
Within
period of his school and college studies Mr. Szczepanski
five times won the Polish State Piano Competition for Piano Youth.
As well he was honored with many artistic scholarships, granted by various
Institutions; among others here were the Frederic
Chopin Society in Warsaw
(in 1991, 1992, 1993) and Franz Liszt Society in Wroclaw
(in 1991, 1995, 1997).
After then
Mr. Szczepanski studied the piano by Prof. Wlodzimierz Obidowicz and
graduated with Honors in 1997 from the 'Karol Lipinski' Academy of Music in Wroclaw
(doctorate in 2004). He completed his piano skills at international
master-courses and seminars under such Masters as Prof. Viktor Merzhanow,
Prof. Andrzej Jasinski
and Prof. Ryszard
Bakst. Actually he works at the Piano Chair in Academy
of Music in Wroclaw.
Simultaneously he as well guides the students of the piano coming to him
just for help from abroad.
Mr. Szczepanski gives master-classes and acts as member of
the Jury at many domestic and international piano competitions for the piano youth.

In 1995 Mr. Michal Szczepanski was awarded with 3rd Prize at the
First International 'F. Chopin' Piano Competition in Marianske Lazne (Czech
Republic); in 1999 - at the I International 'F. Liszt' Piano
Competition in Wroclaw (Poland); in 2000 he got the II Prize ex aequo and has been voted as the Public Favorite of
the 1st International Piano Competition in Aigasawa,
Japan. In 2001 he got the 2nd Prize at International 'F. Chopin'
Piano Competition in Varna
(Bulgaria).
Mr. M. Szczepanski
took part in the various International Music Festivals and actively takes
part in the artistic life giving concerts and recitals - in Germany,
Czech Republic,
Italy, Great
Britain, Russia,
Finland, Switzerland
and USA.
He realized recordings for many broadcast and TV stations in Poland
and Germany.
Since 2002 Mr. Szczepanski
is the Chairman of The Joseph Hofmann Society.
Mr.
Michal Szczepanski's students were awarded at many Polish and international
piano competitions - they got more then 30 Prizes, a half of them were the
1st Prizes! The most recent winners are Mr. Grzegorz Deruba, who won the
International Chopin Piano Competition in Szafarnia, Poland (May, 2005),
Mrs. Natalia Lentas, who won the International Piano Competition in
Görlitz, Germany (December, 2005) and Mr. Piotr Lukaszczyk, who won the
International Piano Competition in Görlitz, Germany (January, 2007).
